DRUGSCAN® is an independently owned toxicology laboratory that was founded in 1985. Since its inception, DRUGSCAN® has provided toxicology testing for employers, DOT-mandated programs, law-enforcement agencies, coroners, medical examiners, substance abuse clinics, and physicians treating patients with specific pain medication.

DRUGSCAN® was one of the first laboratories in the United States to receive its Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) certification in 1989.  DRUGSCAN® is licensed by both state and federal agencies including the Pennsylvania Bureau of Laboratories, the New York State Department of Health, Medicare,  Medicaid, and CLIA.

Our Process

DRUGSCAN® utilizes high-volume chemistry analyzers to accurately identify any potentially positive samples and/or adulterated samples.  All presumptive positive tests are confirmed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS) test(s) to verify the presence of drugs and to provide the quantum of proof necessary to sustain any challenges.  All negative, positive, and adulterated test results are reported to the corresponding customer, third-party administrator, or MRO.
